2018 Hill Family Estate Napa Valley, California Cabernet Sauvignon
Ready to enjoy now but built to evolve, this cuvee from the Napa Valley is rich and delicious.
Country: United States
Brand: Hill Family Estate
Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon
About This Wine:
That’s when they began to select varieties and plant their own vineyards in the Napa Valley. But after nearly four decades of farming grapes for some of the top-ranked Napa wineries, fourth-generation farmer Doug Hill and his family decided they should start making wine.
Hill Family Estate is the culmination of Doug’s vision — a way to share his love of the valley, of farming and of wine with his children and wine lovers everywhere. The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 80% Cabernet, 9% Malbec, 6% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 2% Syrah.
“The wine is carefully blended to give power and balance,” says winemaker Alison Doran. This is achieved through the use of both high-elevation and valley-floor fruit. “The Malbec and Merlot elevate the nose and display fruit and oak spice, and the Syrah adds density without astringency.” In a word: delicious.
