2019 Tenuta San Jacopo 'Poggia ai Grilli' Chianti Superiore, Italy
Brimming with cherry flavor, this Chianti Superiore does double duty as a solo sipper or a versatile food wine.
Brand: Tenuta San Jacopo
About This Wine:
The 18th-century villa sits at the gates of Chianti. Its series of charming colonial houses form a farm that’s seemingly suspended in silence, surrounded by avenues of cypress trees, pine trees and winery buildings.
Situated between Chianti Classico and Valdarno, the 320 acres of vineyards, olive groves and woods make it possible for the family that owns the estate not only to make and sell wine, but to welcome guests for a true “agrotourism” experience. The family has created a welcoming (and authentic) atmosphere.
Tenuta San Jacopo’s Chianti Superiore wine is made entirely from estate-grown Sangiovese grapes. Like all great Chiantis, the wine is a delight to sip — easy drinking and brimming with cherry flavor — but also is extremely food friendly. It pairs nicely with almost any dish, and is particularly sublime with Italian fare for an authentic taste of Tuscany.
