2019 Miguel Flores La Rioja, Argentina Cabernet Sauvignon

Situated in the middle of fertile oases and arid mountain ranges, the cultivated surface of the Famatina Valleys, between the Sierras de Velasco and Famatina, accommodates vineyards that produce some of the most coveted grapes in the country.

These valleys are characterized by a wine-friendly climate, defined by hot days and cool nights. The interaction of altitude, latitude and great solar exposure determines differential temperatures in this semiarid environment, all of which combine to stress the vines — resulting in grapes with highly concentrated aromas and flavors.

Among the predominant red varieties of La Rioja are Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Bonarda and Syrah. While Malbec thrives in many parts of the country, Cabernet Sauvignon truly shines in La Rioja’s hot climate, as the 2019 Miguel Flores wine deliciously demonstrates.
