About This Wine:
That excursion encouraged them to sell their home and move to Sonoma County. By 1997 they were growing grapes and making wine under the Collier Falls label. The name comes from the waterfall below the estate Zinfandel vineyards. Natural springs and creeks in the mountains of Dry Creek Valley create the 30-foot waterfall that runs year-round.
“In winemaking, the natural scenery around us provides inspiration,” Susan Collier says. “Each year we try to capture some of that beauty in the bottle.”
The 2016 Collier Falls Cabernet Sauvignon is a beautiful wine that’s deep, rich and complex, both fruitful and spicy, and possesses velvety tannins that frame a soft vanilla finish. Fewer than 190 cases were crafted. “We recommend 20 to 30 minutes of decanting to fully showcase the wine’s soft flavors and lingering finish of dark fruit,” adds Barry Collier.
