2017 La Follette 'Sangiacomo Roberts Road Vineyard' Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

The illustration was found in a rare first-edition French viticulture manual published in 1847. Written by a member of the Agrarian Committee at Metz, the book covered the latest methods of winegrowing while also championing traditional techniques.

That mix of “old and new” is a viewpoint that resonates with La Follette’s winemaking team, which utilizes fruit from some of the Sonoma Coast’s most coveted vineyards. The Sangiacomo Roberts Road Vineyard is located at the base of the eastern foothills of the Sonoma Coast AVA, adjacent to Gap’s Crown vineyard in the Petaluma Gap. The “Gap” pulls the ocean breeze in through the Russian River Valley, moderating the substantial sunshine this vineyard receives.

The 2017 La Follette Pinot Noir highlights the Petaluma Gap’s bright fruit character, leading to a silky, long finish. It’s a delicious melding of “old and new.”
