About This Wine:
But at Washington’s Tamarack Cellars, it’s not about romance. It’s about the wine. Visitors to the estate in Walla Walla won’t encounter a fancy chateau. Instead, they’ll find a renovated firehouse located in a World War II Army Air Base, where Danny Gordon is immersed in the everyday workings of making wine: racking, blending and bottling.
Founded in 1998 by Ron and Jamie Coleman, Tamarack's first vintage consisted of 300 cases of Merlot. A year later, Gordon began working there and over the years took over winemaking duties with the official title of "Maker of the Wine.” He excels in crafting award-winning wines sourced from some of Washington’s best vineyards.
Tamarack’s 2015 “Spice Box” Red Wine is a Rhone-style, three-variety blend that offers a delicious expression of those vineyards’ style and elegance. Even if by accident, it’s even a bit romantic.
