About This Wine:

You’ve undoubtedly heard the saying, “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.” Well, in the world of wine, the Lodi district of California has some “dirty little secrets” of its own. Okay, perhaps that’s an overstatement — but only a slight one.

What a lot of winery owners in the Napa Valley don’t want you to know is that a significant portion of the grapes used to make their wines are grown in Lodi. In order for a bottling to be designated as a varietal wine (the name of the grape) on its label, at least 75% of the cuvee must be made from that varietal. And a number of wineries outside Lodi use Lodi grapes to stay above that percentage bar.

Why? Because even though Lodi may not be a famous grape-growing region, it is known for quality. And that quality shows in the 2021 Dublin Ranch Lodi Cabernet Sauvignon — a full-bodied, delectable wine with nothing to hide.
