2021 Indian Creek Lodi, California Red Wine

Sometimes a vintner comes across a perfect blend. That’s what happened with the 2021 Indian Creek Red Wine from the Lodi growing region of California. We’re told it’s a somewhat unusual blend, and for that reason, the vintner did not want to disclose the specific “recipe.” After all, when one can produce something that’s truly unique, why share the secret with competitive businesses? (Yes, making wine is a business.)

So, what we’re left with is knowledge of the wine’s origin, as well as our tasting panel’s assessment of its aromas and flavors. The region: Lodi, with a history of grape growing and winemaking dating back five generations. Within the Lodi district, there are no fewer than seven American Viticultural Areas that make possible the growing of more varietals from around the world than any other region in California.

This Indian Creek cuvee is a beautifully textured, bold and jammy wine — a wonderful melding of aromas and flavors.
