About This Wine:
The region is located in the autonomous zone of Aragon, which is within the province of Zaragoza and bordered by Teruel. Its first vines are believed to have been planted during the Roman era.
As with all winegrowing regions, the wines made there through the years have evolved in style. Today, they are known for their intense color, full body, fruitful flavor and, in many cases, long aging potential. The region derives its name from the Cariñena grape variety (also known as Carignan in other countries). The area is known for its great diversity of soils and microclimates, enabling the growers to farm a great number of varieties and the vintners to craft wines in a variety of styles.
