About This Wine:

A vintner may opt to use fruit from a single vineyard, a single estate, a single growing area or even an entire state. For its Central Coast Syrah, the Qupé winery sources grapes from the Santa Ynez Valley up to the Adelaida District in Paso Robles.

Above-average rainfall was experienced at the onset of 2018 along California’s Central Coast. As the growing season progressed, rain tapered off and dry conditions returned. Daytime temperatures throughout summer and early fall were mild, promoting the slow, even ripening of deeply concentrated fruit. All in all, it was a well-rounded vintage characterized by deep color, balance and expressive fruit flavors.

In the glass, the 2018 Qupé Central Coast Syrah is deep purple in hue. The flavors are savory with a spicy, smoky character. Perfectly balanced alcohol gives the wine suppleness that makes it both easy drinking and food friendly — an unbeatable combination.
