Most of the vines were planted in the 1960's & 1970's with shoot clippings from France smuggled into the U.S. by Charles Courys' son.* It is a low elevation vineyard with south & easterly slopes on a small hill at the end of a fairly narrow valley. The soil profiles are predominantly sedimentary but well drained & excellent for wine grape production. Wine varieties include Gewurztraminer (arguably the first Gewurztraminer vines in Oregon), Riesling, Pinot Gris & the largest plantings Pinot Noir.
